We had already heard that the US operator Sprint and LG is planning to launch a 5G smartphone in the US this year, but details about the specific model were unknown until now. Thanks to Evan Blass, we not only know that the phone in question is the LG V50 ThinQ, but we can also see an image of the phone prepared for 5G that will arrive later this year.

Gizchina News of the week
In the image you can see a screen with a large notch similar to some of the filtered images we have seen of the upcoming LG G8 ThinQ, suggesting that there could be a 3D ToF sensor in the front.
On the back of the LG V50 ThinQ, there is a three-lens camera with a fingerprint scanner just below, which further suggests that even the most powerful LG smartphone in 2019 will not have one of the most fashionable features – the scanner of fingerprints on screen. As we have indicated, we are likely to see a 3D scanner for facial recognition.
LG usually unveil the V-series models during fall, but apparently, earlier unveilings might become a permanent thing. After all, seems that the LG G8 ThinQ is believed to be the last of LG G-series, also the Korean firm isn’t interested in creating a new series just for 5G smartphones.
