Since the official announcement of the Xiaomi Mi 9 release date, Lei Jun, Lin Bin and other top executives of Xiaomi has been revealing salient features of this smartphone. So far, the company has confirmed its appearance, processor, camera, fingerprint sensor, chin, price, and a few other aspects. This smartphone will use a Samsung AMOLED display with a 90.7% screen-to-body ratio, 103.8% NTSC color gamut, 600nits brightness, and a fifth-generation on-screen fingerprint sensor.

According to Lei Jun’s latest exposure, the surface of the Xiaomi Mi 9 is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 which is Corning’s latest and most durable version but it is also the most expensive. Lei Jun claims Corning’s sixth-generation gorilla glass’s drop performance is 50% higher than that of the fifth generation. Corning’s laboratory test results show that it is able to withstand 15 drops from a height of 1 meter to a rough surface.
Xiaomi Mi 9 will definitely be more expensive than the Xiaomi Mi 8 because there is a lot of improvements from design to hardware in the upcoming Mi 9. The Xiaomi Mi 9 is expected to cost between 3000 yuan ($443) and 4000 yuan ($590) and this is not too expensive.
