Today, Xilinx announced its cooperation with Samsung Electronics to complete the world’s first commercial deployment of 5G new radio (NR) in Korea. It will be deployed in other countries around the world starting in 201.
It is reported that this cooperation is developed by Xilinx platform, using large-scale multi-input multi-output MIMO technology and millimeter wave solution, to solve the computational requirements of 5G mMIMO geometric level computing strength. At the same time, it also promotes the use of machine learning algorithms in the industry to maximize the effectiveness of the beamforming gain which further increases the capacity and performance of the system.

Liam Madden, executive vice president of hardware and systems product development at Xilinx, said: “Our good relationship with Samsung has been going on for many years. We feel that we can participate in its 5G NR commercial deployment and further expand our cooperation on the Versal platform. W are very proud to cooperate with Samsung.”
