Meizu 16s will be released in the first half of this year. In addition to this mobile phone, Meizu working on another smartphone which will be optimized for gaming called Meizu 16T (T means “Turbo”). Today, Meizu Technology founder, chairman, and CEO Huang Zhang confirmed a few details of this smartphone. The rumor mill has already speculated that it will be powered by a Snapdragon 855 SoC and Meizu’s CEO confirmed it today. He also confirmed that the 16T will use a triple camera setup but there will be no OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), Meizu 16s will have this feature.

According to previous information disclosed by Huang Zhang, the 16T is expected to sell for less than 2500 yuan ($373), lower than the price of Meizu 16s, 16s Plus . This smartphone may be positioned as the cheapest Snapdragon 855 smartphone when it is eventually released. Huang Zhang also revealed that Meizu 16T would not use a notch design and its battery capacity will be between 4000 – 4500 mAh. As a gaming smartphone, it needs a sizeable battery. Unfortunately, Huang Zhang did not announce the release time of the 16T but this smartphone is expected to launch after the Meizu 16s (Meizu 16s may appear in April).
