Oppo’s upcoming smartphones may retain both the 3.5 mm audio port & USB Type-C

The smartphone industry is consistently evolving and salient features are been upgraded while some are getting obsolete. From time to time, big manufacturers communicate with their customers to know their expectations. yesterday, Oppo did that. The vice president of Oppo did a survey on Weibo where he asked: “Do you think it is necessary to keep the 3.5 mm audio port and also retain the USB Type-C?” Well, anyone who is close to the smartphone industry will know that the 3.5 mm audio port is quite popular amongst smartphone fans and the USB Type-C is loved too.

Gizchina News of the week

3.5 mm audio port

Netizens voted for the company to retain both features. If this survey is anything to go by, then a couple of Oppo smartphones to come will probably retain both the 3.5 mm audio port and USB Type-C. Since Apple first cancelled the 3.5 mm headphone jack on the iPhone 7 in 2016, the idea to expunge the 3.5 mm headphone jack among Android manufacturers started but the market never supported it. To increase the problems of expunging the 3.5 mm headphone jack, quality USB Type-C headphones are not so common thus many users have to rely on some sort of intermediary interface.
