One of the highly anticipated flagships this year after Samsung’s Galaxy S10 series is Huawei’s P30. The successor of the P20 that started the triple camera revolution is arriving on March 26, as confirmed earlier. Now, leaks have almost made it certain that the high-end Huawei P30 Pro will feature a super zoom feature unlike anything in previous P series devices. And even Huawei’s teasers have confirmed this to a certain extent but official word from a Huawei executive has confirmed it once and for all.
Gizchina News of the week
As reported by Android Central, Huawei’s VP of Global Product Marketing, Clement Wong, confirmed a periscope-style “super zoom” feature at MWC 2019. Sounds familiar? Well, because it is. OPPO also showed off a similar 10x lossless zoom tech at MWC itself and it seems Huawei is on to something like OPPO. While the super zoom feature is now confirmed, it remains to be seen if Huawei can better OPPO by outing something better than 10x zoom. Wong, however, promised that the P30 Pro’s camera would offer “something nobody (has done) before,”
The Huawei P30 Pro renders were leaked earlier last week and the handset is expected to feature a quad-camera setup. Huawei will also be looking to improve upon the already excellent low-light performance of the flagship P20. Besides, there will be upgrades in design and hardware of the series as well.
