Android 9 Pie is the most recent Android system and most manufacturers are doing whatever they can to ensure that their smartphones support this system. In December 2017, South Korean manufacturing giant, Samsung, released the Samsung Galaxy A8+ (2018) and at the time, this smartphone came with Android 7 Nougat. In May 2018, the company released the Android Oreo update for this device and now, there is confirmation that Android 9 Pie update is now rolling in with the February 2019 Android security patch.

As of now, this update has only been spotted in Russia but we can be sure that the company is working on releasing this update to other countries although this may not arrive anytime soon. This update is currently available via Samsung Smart Switch or simply go to Settings > Software update menu.
The Samsung Galaxy A8+ (2018) comes with a 6-inch Full-HD+ Super AMOLED display. It is powered by an Exynos 7885 SoC coupled with 4GB/6GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage. In the camera department, this device boasts of a dual rear camera setup (16MP+8MP) and another 16M sensor is available for selfies. The lights of this smartphone are kept on by a 3,500 mAh battery.
