One of the main limitations of most smartwatches is battery life (difficult to get to more than two days of battery life) but Google team could have a solution.

With the latest update of Google Fit, in fact some Wear OS smartwatches will be able to use a low-power GPS mode that saves battery and that system is already being released for the Mobvoi Ticwatch Pro.

According to what was revealed by Google team, a new update for Google Fit on Wear OS introduces some improvements under the hood that can lead to gains in battery life (it was not said to what extent), allowing users to take advantage of a special energy-saving mode for GPS functionality during a workout.

Google has not provided details on the exact way this system works, which should be available for all Wear OS smartwatches that have the minimum requirements.

The update with this new feature will soon be released for other models.
