Xiaomi’s Redmi sub-brand has scheduled a launch event for March 19th in India where it will introduce one of its latest product to the Indian market. In view of that, the company has rolled out invites to the media and fans in the country. While the company didn’t make direct reference to the launch product, the invite has the tagline “‘GO’ #MiForYou”, which suggests that the device could be the Redmi Go smartphone announced a while ago.

The device considered as a lightweight version of the Xiaomi Redmi 5a was first announced for Europe where it is yet to go on sale, then later in the Philipines and it is now heading down to India where the Redmi brand already launched the Redmi Note 7 and Note 7 Pro within the space of three months. The Redmi Go is based on Android 8.1 Oreo Go edition, and much like every other Android Go devices comes pre-installed with lightweight apps Google Go, Assistant Go, Gmail Go, and YouTube Go.
