12.5-inch Mi Notebook Air with 8th gen Intel CPU now official

After teasing a new laptop a couple of days back, Xiaomi has announced a new Mi Notebook Air today with an Intel 8th Gen processor in China. The new notebook comes after the company refreshed the Mi Notebook Air in December last month with an Intel 7th gen CPU. The new 12.5-inch notebook has a starting price of 3,599 Yuan (~$536) and is available for pre-orders. Sales will start on March 28.

Gizchina News of the week

In terms of what’s inside, the Mi Notebook Air rocks an Intel 8thgeneration M3 or i5 processor depending on the model customers choose to buy. The exact battery size isn’t shown but Xiaomi says the power pack can be charged up to half in 35 minutes. Xiaomi had teased the thin profile of the laptop in its teasers so we’re expecting a battery size similar to its predecessors.

The screen is a 12.5-inch panel with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution and the bezels are 5.71mm thin which is pretty similar to last year. The keyboard is back-lit and Xiaomi has thrown in Harmann speakers with support for DTS surround sound capability.

Two variants – 4GB + 128GB/256GB feature  the M3 processor and cost 3,599 Yuan (~$536), 3,999 Yuan (~$596) respectively. While an Intel Core i5 model with 4GB RAM + 256GB storage costs 4,299 Yuan (~$640).

i5, 256gb and…. …. 4 gig ram… losers. Xiaomi could as well give us an i7, 512gb ssd, 64gig ram… BUT the keyboard only has those keys: lq,f^$. Exactly the same, Xiaomi, thank you for those 4 gig ram, so the whole set of relatively nice specs is thrown into the gutter cuz you are too stingy
