Today is one of the biggest days of the year for Huawei, the Chinese Behemoth has just announced the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro, and along with it, a new wireless Bluetooth earphone called Huawei Freelace. These new earbuds can either be used wirelessly or via the USB-C port in a phone, that’s what we can call a hybrid earphone.
The Freelace is recognized in the phone when plugged for the first time, the HiPair then establish a connection with the phone, allowing it to be used in both wireless or plugged modes. While the Freelace can be used in the wireless mode, users will be benefited by the possibility of charging it via the USB-C port.
Huawei newest Freelaces come with 9.2mm dynamic drivers and are designed with controls on the left and right sides. The overall construction is great since the cable uses nickel and titanium alloy mixed with silicone, resulting in a tangle-free experience, increased durability and position memory – which basically means that the cable will keep its shape.

The new earbuds come with IPX5 certification which means that they can stand against sweat, and also features wind noise reduction. This combination makes the Freelaces a perfect wireless earphone for those with an active life outdoors or that enjoy listening to music during exercises. Worth noting, that the set doesn’t feature an actual noise cancelation feature. However, it does include magnetic snaps on both bud, thus allowing you to pause the music, end phone calls or disengage to accept a call from your phone.
Huawei isn’t shy in promoting the battery life of its new wireless earbuds – According to the Chinese giant, Freelace supports 12 hours of talk time or 18 hours of music playback on a single charge. Moreover, they’ll support Huawei’s fast-charging technology and 5-minute is enough for 4 hours of playback.
The Huawei Freelace come in four different and vivid colors to catch up with the new Huawei P30 and P30 Pro colors. The pricing for the Freelace starts at €99 (~$111,96) but it may vary depending on the region.
