LG has developed a system for placing the 5G antenna in phone screens

Smartphone displays have received many improvements in recent times like the fingerprint recognition support and the audio emitter that replaces the classic ear capsule.

Well, it seems that LG has decided to go further and developed a system to integrate the 5G antenna into the screen. Indeed, “integrating” is probably not the most suitable term, as it seems that the engineers have applied thin antenna films on the back side of the screen.

This solution would allow the Korean giant to save space (the 5G antenna requires more space than a 4G) and safeguard the overall design of the smartphone.

LG said that it could apply these films with the antenna even on the back of the phone but perhaps it prefers to allocate that part of the device for wireless battery charging.

However, before seeing the new system of the Korean giant in a smartphone intended for marketing we will still have to wait several months: in fact, LG V50 ThinQ will be equipped with a “normal” 5G antenna.
