A user of Reddit has posted on the social network the whole procedure that allowed him to create a fake imprint able to unlock the ultrasonic sensors of Samsung Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 Plus practically without problems.
To do this, he first took a photo of a fingerprint he left on a glass; he then imported it to Photoshop and increased its contrast then he used the 3ds Max, a program with which he managed to create a three-dimensional version to be printed using a 3D printer.
After only 13 minutes, the printed imprint was ready for use and as you can see from the following video the results are quite surprising since the imprint seems to work smoothly.
The user in his post wanted to warn readers of the dangers that such a procedure entails for the safety of users.
The security that the ultrasonic fingerprint readers promise is therefore undermined by the combination of a simple camera and a 3D printer: do you think this discovery could slow down the adoption of this new technology?
