It’s been over a month since Samsung took the wrap off the futuristic clamshell Smartphone and its very first foldable device named the Galaxy Fold. The device has a release date of April 26th, and if previous reports are any indication, the Fold could be getting a very limited rollout, and so far, it appears the device will be offered in the U.S by only AT&T as well as T-Mobile.
Well, indications have emerged that the Fold will sell in China as it has already picked up the country regulator TENAA approval. The TENAA listing of the Galaxy Fold (SM-F9000) hasn’t revealed all there is to know about the Fold, not even the usual images yet. That is no cause for concern, though, as we already have detailed specs as well as hands-on images of the device.
The Galaxy Fold is Samsungs leap into the future of Smartphone. Call it a Smartphone or tablet, you are on point— The Galaxy Fold is both a Smartphone and a tablet. A tablet when unfolded allowing you view content on a 7.3-inch Infinity Flex Dynamic AMOLED display, and a phone when folded, revealing a 4.6-inch cover Super AMOLED display. We are not sure what the exact footprint is, but we understand it is about 50% thinner than your typical Smartphone display.

The device comes packed with a 4275mAh that charges over a USB type-C port with support for charging. It comes fitted with a total of 6 cameras: 1 on the cover, 3 on the rear, and 2 on the front, and they come in the exact configuration we see on the Galaxy S10 phones, albeit some slight difference on the S10 5G.
The Galaxy Fold runs on Android Pie with Samsung’s new One UI interface on top, and under the hood, the Fold has the Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 with 12GB RAM AND 512GB of non-expandable storage.
The Galaxy Fold isn’t cheap, in fact, it costs twice the price of one of the most expensive iPhone and the Galaxy Note 9. The official off-contract price of the Fold is put at $1980, although specific pricing in the Chinese market is yet to be confirmed.
