DxOMark has just published the results of its in-depth analysis of the rear and front cameras of the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G.
The Galaxy S10 5G is the ultrapremium model of the Samsung S10 family of smartphones. The main camera system combines a 12MP primary camera and a variable aperture lens with a 16MP wide-angle module and a 12MP 2x telephoto module.
Compared to the standard S10 model, the 5G model also adds a Time of Flight (TOF) sensor to help with bokeh when recording videos, as well as with augmented reality applications.

Rear camera
With a DxOMark Mobile score of 112 points, the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G has the same score as the Huawei P30 Pro. In general, the S10 5G offers slightly better performance than the S10+ in the tests.
The change of Samsung to record by default in 4K for video, and the use of the telephoto camera for bokeh effects in portrait mode, give the 5G version a 3-point improvement that puts it on top of all tested mobile devices by DxO. The S10 5G can also claim the title of being the first smartphone to get 100 video points.
Frontal camera
With a DxOMark Selfie score of 97 points , the Galaxy S10 5G is the new number 1 in the DxOMark Selfie front camera ranking.
The results of the front camera are very close to the S10+ in general, but the small improvements in several categories, especially in video, have helped the 5G version to surpass its brother at one point.
