During the Huawei Global Analyst Conference, which saw the participation of almost 700 analysts, Huawei announced its strategy regarding 5G networks, showing the roadmap for 2019 which includes at least four devices with support for the fifth generation networks.
The first device to reach the market, in mid-June, will be a CPE (Customer Premise Equipment) device, a wireless gatweay router for high-speed services, obviously based on 5G networks. In July we will see the Huawei Mate X, the first foldable smartphone of the Chinese giant announced at MWC 2019.
Gizchina News of the week
In September it will be the turn of a mobile WiFi router based on 5G technology, while in October it will be the turn of a new 5G smartphone. However, the company did not mention the Mate 20 X 5G, but it is probably not considered a new product and was therefore not included in the roadmap.
It is also possible that the Nova and Huawei Mate 30 series will receive at least one 5G model, which may however reach the markets later. We will certainly know more in the coming weeks, even if now the media attention is centered on Huawei Mate X, which has become even more interesting after Samsung has postponed the launch of Galaxy Fold in some countries.
