Verizon kicks Samsung Galaxy S10 5G pre-orders; announces more 20 cities getting 5G in the US


During the last month, a number of reports surfaced indicating that the United States Big Red – Verizon – would launch the Galaxy S10 5G on May 16 and today the carrier confirmed that launch date. To celebrate the confirmation, the big red is kicking the pre-orders for the 5G powered unit of the Samsung’s S10, those who pre-order the handset should receive their units by May 16.

The giant carrier is offering the 256GB model for $1,299 while the 512GB variant retails at $1,399. The new handset will come only in Majestic Black and Crown Silver color variants. The users that decide to jump in the pre-order bandwagon will receive a pair of wire-free Galaxy Buds plus a Samsung wireless charging battery pack as a bonus.

Verizon also announced that 20 more US cities will be getting 5G coverage soon. The list includes Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dallas, Des Moines, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Little Rock, Memphis, Phoenix, Providence, San Diego, Salt Lake City, and Washington DC.

Unfortunately the carrier did not disclose when exactly these cities will get the new ultra-fast network speed, however, all those companies should receive the new coverage until the end of 2019 since Verizon hopes to gradually expand its 5G spectrum through the course of the year.
