Earlier today, Xiaomi took a jab at Lenovo, implying that the company was lying about the actual charging capabilities of the new Lenovo Z6 Pro. That’s because while the Z6 Pro is equipped with a 27W charger, the phone itself only supports 18W fast charging.
Lenovo’s reply didn’t take too long and after a couple hours, the vice president of Lenovo Group responded that “This 9 is love”, meaning it’s a comeback after what Lenovo did at the launch of the Xiaomi Mi 9, attacking the company for not having the device in stock.

Lenovo then added that the reason behind the discrepancy is “We know that users are using the device to the maximum, so in order to better improve the host’s 18W charging efficiency, while controlling the temperature of charging, the Z6 Pro comes standard with a 27W charger. This charger supports the PD 3.0 and QC 4.0 protocols, so it is also convenient for users to efficiently charge other phones. Thus we went forward with it, knowing it is not right, but… We stand by: sincerity and love.”
So, basically, Lenovo admitted that promoting or at least suggesting the Z6 Pro had 27W fast charging “was not right”, but in the end users get a more powerful and universal charger they can use on other phones as well; perhaps with the Mi 9 which actually supports 27W fast charging?
It is worth mentioning that Lenovo Z6 Pro will officially go on sale at 10AM on April 29th, the 6GB+128GB version will cost 2899 yuan ($430), 8GB+128GB version for 2999 yuan ($445).
