Huawei will launch Huawei P20 Lite (2019) with a Quadruple camera setup on the rear

Huawei P20 Lite (2019)

The Huawei P20 Lite has proven to be a success for the Chinese company last year. The decent performance granted the phone a worthful successor in the form of Huawei P30 Lite. However, the Chinese Behemoth seems really interested in the particular success of the P20 Lite, and in order, to further capitalize its success, a new Huawei P20 Lite (2019) model is being developed.

The new handset is called Huawei P20 Lite (2019) and is set to be released in the near future, leaked information suggests the next-gen model will once again debut with a 5.84-inch LCD panel. However, this time, Huawei will ditch the notch in favor of a more modern looking, but also intrusive, punch hole in the top-left corner of the display.

Thanks to a set of leaked render we can have a look of what to expect from the upcoming budget device. Apparently, the 2019 edition will ship with a glass panel on the back and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. But what’s really interesting to see is the Quadruple camera sensor, something that will be one of the main selling points of this midrange handset. Details about the setup remain unclear, but according to the leak the main camera will feature 24MP of resolution, and at least one of the sensor will be a ToF  (Time-of-Flight) one.

Under the hood, the new model will count with an upgrade over last year’s Kirin 659 that will be changed to a newer Kirin 710. The mid-range chipset will be paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Support for microSD expansion will also be included in the package, and according to reports, the company is also working in a pricier 128GB storage variant.

The whole package will be fueled by a 3,000mAh, and of course, this a downside. With many midrange smartphones being released with bigger and bigger batteries, the Huawei P20 Lite 2019 will be some steps behind the competition, at least on this aspect. Still, the phone will include Android 9 Pie straight out the box, and Bluetooth 5.0 support.

As previously mentioned, there’s no indication pointing to when the smartphone will be released, but it will come in at least three color versions – Midnight Black, Chrush Blue, and Charming Red. Regarding the price, the Honor P20 Lite (2019) price should start at €279 ($313).
