OnePlus has today raised the curtains of its latest lineup of smartphones in 2019, and this time there’s not one but two. Needless to say, the lion’s share of attention has been and will be with the OnePlus 7 Pro, the company has made sure of that. But, you’d be mistaken to presume that the OnePlus 7 doesn’t deserve any attention. OnePlus surprised everyone by pricing the standard version flagship starting at £499 in the UK and Rs 32,999 in India. It will not go on sale immediately but next month and the US is unlikely to get it.

For that price, you’re getting a 6.41-inch Full-HD+ display, an octa-core Snapdragon 855 SoC, 6GB/8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of onboard storage. You’ll also be getting the same primary shooter as the one on the Pro variant which is the 48MP Sony sensor with an f/1.6 aperture accompanied by a 5MP depth sensor. The front shooter is a 16MP IMX471 sensor. You also get a 3,700mAh battery with 20W fast charging, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, and 3D Corning Gorilla Glass. The UFS 3.0 storage is also not skipped on this one which is very nice to see and neither is the on-screen fingerprint reader.
What you don’t get are the gorgeous curves on the display, the 90Hz screen, liquid cooling, the wide angle lens, the pop-up camera, and 12GB of RAM. But then, you’re also not paying that £149 premium. The OnePlus 7 is a great phone for the price, one that will give headaches to competitors like Honor, and Asus with their upcoming premium phones.
