Not less than two models of the Huawei Nova 5 are said to be in the works. The two devices seemingly dubbed the Huawei Nova 5 and Nova 5i already got rubber-stamped by the EEC and the FCC which listed the Nova 5i with a 3900mAh capacity battery with a 10W power adapter in the box.
Now, two new unnamed Huawei smartphones with the SEA-TL10 and SEA-AL10 model numbers have passed through the 3C certification process with a 40W charger coming in the retail box with the very same serial number, spotted on the Huawei P30 Pro’s charging block. The devices are alleged to be variant of the Nova 5, though there is no way to confirm this given that the 3C document does not expressly label them so, unlike the Huawei devices with the SEA-LX1 model number labeled as the Nova 5, and the GLK-LX1U model number as the HuaweiNova 5i by the Eurasian Economic Commission.
Gizchina News of the week
We still do not know a bunch about the upcoming Huawei Nova5, though indications are that the Nova 5 could bear some similarities with the Huawei P30 lite, but with the fingerprint scanner making its way under the display. The device as per previous leaks will come fitted with a tri-camera system at the rear, while it will rock the Kirin 980 chipset, though same cannot be said of the Nova 5i which might get the Kirin 710 SoC. Render of the device showcasing the front view has yet to surface, so we can not say if it will adopt the Huawei Nova 4’s design with a punch hole display or even a notch like the Huawei P30 with which it shares similar rear design.
We expect the device to drop soon, but not without clearing TENAA which is a mandatory step before any device is unveiled in China. Whether or not the release will be hindered by the lingering dispute between the firm and the US authorities remains unknown.
