China’s Huawei is fast losing all its allies following the all-out trade blockade on the company’s US partners. Every party is complying with the latest regulations set forth by the US government as the ban begins to have a far-reaching effect on the Chinese firm despite claims it could weather the storm even without supplies from the States.
The Chinese firm business was first threatened over the weekend when Alphabet Inc’s Google suspended some business with Huawei – a move that could prevent the firm from churning out new Android-powered devices and particularly means existing devices might not get all necessary support from Google. Concerned by what could be become of its customers, and safeguard itself from any loss, several Japanese carriers have reportedly put the sales of some Huawei smartphones earlier billed to g on sale soon on hold till further notice.

Reuters reports earlier today the Japanese telco SoftBank Corp’s low-cost mobile brand Ymobile said on Wednesday it would delay the launch of Huawei P30 Lite smartphone, following the imposition of trade restrictions on the Chinese manufacturer by Washington. The device was earlier meant to go on sale on Friday, but its spokesperson says they are assessing the situation to ensure it is safe to offer the device for sale.
Another Japanese telco, KDDI Corp which finds itself in a similar situation said on Wednesday it has decided to suspend the launch of the Huawei P30 Lite smartphone until a later date, while Japan’s largest telco, NTT Docomo, said it was considering putting on hold reservations for the Huawei P30 Pro smartphone.
Though Huawei depends on its Kirin SoC for its smartphones but relies on the Android operating system, which is effectively run by Google, and plans are reportedly on to break away from the Android platform, if reports that the company’s own mobile OS will debut as early as this fall is any indication.
