The first issue with the OnePlus 7 Pro was one based in logistics, after huge demand for the flagship the company found itself without enough stock prepared to deliver these orders. CEO Pete Lau has promised to shift some inventory meant for overseas markets to China in order to counter the customers’ backlash, however, orders made the sale on May 23 will be shipped only on June 1. Now, after this quite problematic sale, a new issue has surfaced and this one may scare potential issues – Some OnePlus 7 Pro units display started to present phantom touches.
According to a report from some users that managed to get their brand new OnePlus 7 Pro are getting random phantom or ghost touches. Curiously, this issue is easier to replicate in the CPU-Z app, but it’s also happening in some other apps. If you’ve never experienced something like this, it’s easy to understand: It consists of something like an invisible hand touching certain parts of the display that users are surely not touching.

The touch trace function was enabled, and as you can see, several ghost touches are happening on the screen in the short 28 seconds video. You can imagine how this can be annoying for users that are affected by the issue. After all, the OnePlus 7 Pro, is among the premium class of smartphones and it’s very expensive.
OnePlus announced that investigations are already started, it also urged customers who are experiencing this to report it immediately via OnePlus Community App or through the feedback section of its forums. With the reports, the company can easily find the root of the issue and fix it in a short time. If this problem is being caused by something in the software, it’ll be easy to fix, however, if it’s an issue related to the displays itself, then it may represent serious trouble.
