Redmi will show that it has truly become serious on May 28 with the release of the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20. The duo of handsets will be the most powerful handsets to carry the Redmi name until now. While the Redmi K20 Pro is expected to be the cheapest Snapdragon 855 powered smartphone, the Redmi K20 will reduce the price even further with the Snapdragon 730. While it’s obviously a downgrade from the almighty SD855, the Snapdragon 730 is still an excellent performer.
With the launch date nearing the shores, the Redmi K20 series is leaking crazy. After posters revealed the specs and design, the Snapdragon 730 powered variant decided to pay a visit to GeekBench database, confirming more details about the premium midrange specifications.
Judging by the leaked benchmark, the Redmi K20 will go by the Redmi Davinci codename. The listing reveals the octa-core chipset clocked at 1,80GHz. For instance, the Snapdragon 730 chipset has two clusters, one with six Kryo 470 (CA55) cores clocked at 1.8GHz and another with two Kryo 470 (CA76) clocked at 2.2GHz. The processing power comes paired with Adreno 618 GPU power, that should ensure enough power to run games like PUBG at High.
Gizchina News of the week
The Redmi K20 (Davinci) scored 2574 points in the Single Core tests while the Multi-Core performance resulted in 7079 points. This particular version of the handset comes with 6GB of RAM. While this information is yet to be confirmed, we believe that just like the Pro variant, the K20 will come with more than one RAM/Storage variant. Despite the different processor, the K20 will apparently retain most of the features of its Pro Counterpart. It includes the 6.39″ 1080×2340 notchless display, triple rear camera setup (with a 48 MP main shooter), a 4,000mAh battery and the gorgeous pop-up selfie snapper.
The handset will ship with Android 9 Pie, but this isn’t a surprise. Atop of the Android version, the device will come with the latest version of MIUI 10. Since the K20 and K20 Pro will go official on May 28, we aren’t too far from knowing all details about these two flagships that may shake the smartphone segment.
