The recently launched Moto Z4 mid-ranger might be the lone member of the Motorola Z4 we will see this year. This in essence means the Moto Z3 Play wont get a sequel, neither will the Moto Z2 play, which isn’t really surprising given that we never saw a Z3 Force in 2018.
Expectations were high this year for the MotoZ4 Force following the launch of the Mot Z4 a few days go, but with this Revelation, we now know the Moto Z4 Force and Z4 play will never see the light of the day. In its response to a fan on Twitter who wanted to be when the Moto Z4Play will debut, MotorolaUSA tweeted that it will not be announcing additional Moto Z devices this year which essentially means the standard Moto Z4 is the only Z4 member for this year.

Whether or not it has finally killed the Z Play and Z Force iterations has yet to be confirmed, though that is more likely given that there wasn’t a Play variant in 2018. And if our guess is any indication, the brand may be looking to focus on the lower-end and mid-range echelons of the smartphone market, and not on the pricey segment dominated by series of devices powered by the SD 855. Another possibility is that the brand might release the Z4 Force in other market, and not in the U.S, perhaps with a different branding. We have reached out to the brand and hope to get a response soon.
