Xiaomi has finally declared the launch date of the Xiaomi Mi 9T on its official Twitter handle today. The company said that the launch date will take place on June 12 but hasn’t mentioned whether the launch event will take place in China or overseas or even online. Previous leaks have strongly hinted that the new Xiaomi flagship is a rebranded Redmi K20 for some regions outside of China.

Now, a number of e-store listings have popped up in the past week with alleged pricing and specifications of the Mi 9T that make it look very likely a  rebranded Redmi K20. Xiaomi Mi 9T teasers contain some elements of the K20 design and some elements that differ (the rear camera placement) hence we might see some sort of variation in design.

Meanwhile, the Redmi K20 is selling like hotcakes in China and with its aggressive pricing, it is expected. This is Redmi’s first pop-up camera phone and it created a lot of buzz before launch. The Redmi K20 is also now scheduled to launch in India before the end of next month, said Manu Kumar Jain today in a teaser video on Twitter.
