Given that FedEx has up till now had no genuine reason for its action where it had diverted two parcels destined for Huawei addresses in Asia to the United States and attempted to reroute two others in the face of a trade restriction on the Chinese firm, it seems like a safe bet that the Chinese firm might terminate its agreement with the logistic company after a more proper investigation is concluded.
Although there is still no official reports that suggest the two parties aren’t cooperating anymore, the Chinese company has now an entered an alliance with China’s state-owned logistics giant China Post for a strategic partnership. China post made the disclosure earlier today in an official statement on Wechat where it confirmed it has inked a strategic agreement with the Chinese firm which will see them deepening cooperation in finance, technology innovation, logistics, and talent cultivation.

The statement further added that Senior executives from both companies, including China Post chairman Liu Aili and Huawei co-chairman Eric Xu, attended the agreement signing ceremony today, while also revealing that the agreement will see both companies set up a new technology application lab and a joint innovation center. We have reached out to the Chinese giant for a confirmation of the deal since there are speculations its move may not be unconnected to the recent logistic mishap.
FedEx has since tendered its apologies saying it is only a minor shipment error, an isolated issue, limited to a very small number of packages, we know all controversial packages, and we are working with customers to return the package.”, but Huawei spokesperson in a statement to Reuters earlier this week revealed that its company will review its logistics and document delivery support requirements as a fallout of the incidence.
