Amidst the ongoing ZenFone branding case in India, Asus has just announced that it will rebadge the ZenFone 6 as Asus 6Z in India. It’s a good move considering the next hearing for the case is on July 10. If the company would wait that long, it could lose ground and sales time before the launch of the Redmi K20 Pro. The Asus 6Z is launching on June 19.

Now, this new branding was already in the air after spotting of the official 6Z listing on Flipkart a couple of days back. Despite the change in the moniker, the flagship offering will remain the same and all that disappears is the ZenFone branding. It remains to be seen whether the branding will stay for other popular mid-range products from the company such as the ZenFone Max Pro M3.
If you don’t already know, the ZenFone 6 takes a turn for the innovative instead of walking the line drawn by its predecessors, and it sure is interesting. The handset comes with camera module that swivels 180 degrees thus not only ridding itself of a selfie camera but also enabling a full-screen design. The screen is 6.4-inches Full-HD+ protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6. Other key highlights of the product include a Snapdragon 855 SoC, 5,000mAh battery, and of course the 48MP shooter that will also take selfies.
