HMD Global, the well known Finnish company behind Nokia’s revival, decided to cut the price of one of its recent midrange smartphones released in India – The Nokia 8.1. With the new move, the 4GB/64GB variant of the handset is now priced at INR19,999 ($290) whereas the 6GB/128GB model retails for INR22,999($330).
The new prices are already available in the company’s official India website as well as in the country’s local retailers that offer Nokia’s midrange handset in their portfolio. If you can’t recall the Nokia 8.1 specs by yourself, we are here to refresh your memory: The handset was released in the last year with the Snapdragon 710 at the helm. The sole presence of this chipset put the Nokia 8.1 in a class of premium midrange smartphones, the processing power was coupled by either 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage or 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage depending on the variant.

The handset features a 6.18-inch FHD+ notched display and boasts a dual camera setup on the rear at the back that is composed of a 12MP + 13MP shooters. Worth noting that when this handset came, the notched displays were the hottest, yet not so loved, trend of the industry. Of course, this design isn’t appealing anymore with the advent of teardrop notches and the amazing full-screen notchless devices. This could be a reason to justify the HMD choice of slashing the price of its last year’s handset.
Nokia 8.1 is currently available in Blue Silver and Iron colors in India and packs a 3,500mAh battery with 18W fast-charging support.
