Google Maps is always in continuous improvement, both in terms of utility and security provided to its users: recently the speedometer was added to the application while today it is up to a really interesting feature, which allows you to get alerts when your taxi goes off route.
Just click on “Stay safer” to get information on how much the taxi driver is deviating from the route that, according to Maps, should be the correct one: and, let’s face it, Google Maps will probably be right. You will receive notices whenever the taxi deviates 500 meters from the route calculated by the application: this allows both to prevent being scammed by any taxi drivers who specifically lengthen the route and to know in time if, unfortunately, the driver has decided to take us to a “secluded place”, so that we can warn the police during the journey.
Gizchina News of the week
This is really a very good feature, able to safeguard our security in various aspects: we don’t know however when it will be released also on our territory, given that Google has not officially announced it, but it has only been reported by an XDA Indian user. It is not so surprising now that a new feature is released in India before in other countries, including the USA: Google Maps has recently been activated on Indian devices, allowing you to keep track of delays in public transport and to view rates of rickshaws.
Now that’s amazing!
