iPhone XR 2 to sport a 3,110mAh battery; 5% larger than its predecessor

iPhone XR

The iPhone XR came in 2018 to be the “affordable” variant that would contrast with the $999+ iPhone XS and XS Max. The device has surprisingly turned more popular than the expensive variants besting the duo in a couple of things. First of all, they were quite more interesting in terms of design due to the multiple color variants, and the second reason was the larger battery which provided a much better endurance.

According to a new report, the iPhone XR successor will bring further improvement in the battery. No matter how Apple will choose to name it, if it will either be named iPhone XR 2 or iPhone XIR, the new variant will be more serious in terms of providing a whole day of usage with a 3,110mAh  battery. This capacity represents a 5% increase over the last year’s 2,942mAh equipped iPhone XR. While this amount doesn’t sound like a huge increase, worth noting that iPhone XR was able to outperform its siblings in terms of battery life.

The report further reveals that Chinese Amperex Technology Limited (ATL) has been granted the order for the iPhone XR 2 batteries. The company is already known for providing the batteries that substituted the catching-fire SDI units inside the problematic Galaxy Note 7. The combination of a larger battery with the more efficient 7nm Apple A13 chipset should ensure one of the best battery life than an iPhone device ever had.

After low sales for its 2018 iPhones, Apple has to make sure that this year’s edition will be attractive enough for consumers. Battery Life is something that the Android side of the force is able to offer in abundance and Apple as often neglected.
