Xiaomi Yeelight mosquito killer released for 149 yuan ($22)


Xiaomi has a couple of mosquito killers in the market. Its products are doing quite well and this encourages the company to release more. Today, the company launched a new Yeelight mosquito killer for 149 yuan ($22). This is actually a two-in-one product, a mosquito swatter and it’s base which is also a mosquito killer.

The mosquito swatter uses has a base which prevents accidental touch. The base is also a mosquito killer. This design provides protection and reduces a hazard. The smart purple light attracts flying insects. The lights automatically turn on at night and off in the morning. In the mosquito-repellent mode, the Yeelight mosquito-killing lamp emits ultraviolet light of 360-400 nm wavelength. This attracts mosquitoes and kills them with its high-voltage power grid. This is a physical killing process and does not use chemicals. The Xiaomi Yeelight mosquito killer uses with a lithium battery (in-built). The battery is easily accessible and it can last for 3-4 hours after a full charge. The charging is via a Micro USB interface.

Xiaomi Yeelight mosquito killer

According to Xiaomi, this product has a standard test certification. The Shanghai Institute of Plant Physiology and Ecology in the Chinese Academy of Sciences tested the Xiaomi Yeelight mosquito killer in accordance with the national standard GB/T27785-2011. The mosquito-killing effect is as high as 88.10%. Yeelight products are compatible with the global mainstream loT platforms. This includes Apple HomeKit, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Xiaomi.
