Chinese manufacturing giant, Huawei, has been at the hub of issues since the US government added the company to its entity list. A couple of countries have blacklisted Huawei’s 5G equipment and it can not freely do business with American companies. However, not all countries will ban Huawei. The likes of the UK, Germany, and France will not ban the company – at least not because of the allegations by the US. According to Huawei’s official European Twitter handle, Chile’s Deputy Trade Minister, Rodrigo Yanez Benitez, said at the G20 summit that the country will not exclude Huawei’s 5G equipment from its 5G telecommunication network.
Rodrigo Yanez Benitez said, “We are receptive of concerns that some trading partners have on [using Huawei equipment],”…”We have listened carefully to all of them.”…”Chile is a small but highly competitive and open economy. Thus we will not target a company in a certain country and excluded it from our 5G network construction.”

Rodrigo Yanez Benitez finally said that due to the conflict between the two largest economies of the world, the price of copper, one of Chile’s main export products, fell because China is one of its important exporting countries.
Chile now joins Brazil, another Latin American country to state its stance on the matter by not excluding the Chinese company.
