Xiaomi said: “After the survey artist Peter Tarka commented on the abuse of his work on Xiaomi’s Spanish website, Xiaomi determined that the designer had used Peter Tarka’s design without permission. We have removed the content from our website and the employee has been dismissed with immediate effect. We sincerely apologize to Peter Tarka and the mistakes in our approval process. Employee behavior is contrary to our company’s respect for intellectual property values, and we will further strengthen the internal approval process to prevent this from happening again. We have already contacted Peter Tarka to express our apology.”
As of now, the plagiarized content is no longer on Xiaomi’s website. Earlier, Peter Tarka discovered that an image on Xiaomi’s official website used the materials of some of his works. Two of these works were product advertisements specially made for LG. To this end, Peter Tarka created a GIF animation to show how the three images were integrated into a single image.
