The Asian giant Huawei is already thinking about the successor of its current foldable smartphone and a few days ago we had the proof with a patent that showed us a possible solution for the second generation of its foldable device. However, it is a rather advanced model and the one shown in the newly published document on WIPO could be a more likely candidate for the role of Huawei Mate X 2.
Huawei Mate X 2 with Second Display: the company thinks about the successor of its foldable smartphone
Despite many similarities with the previous model, the smartphone in question has a similar design to the Samsung Galaxy Fold. In this case, in fact, the screen folds inwards and adopts a large external second Display. Certainly a nice change! The patent for the alleged Huawei Mate X 2 was filed in July 2018 and approved in June 2019 and the images below allow us to take a look at the device in question.
Gizchina News of the week
Compared to the current device, the corners seem much more rounded; here too there is the side “bar” to host the camera module and it is possible to see a secondary display much larger than that proposed by Samsung.
Obviously, the future Mate X 2 will not necessarily adopt this design since it is information coming from a patent. We all know that these devices do not always actually turn into reality and for this reason. Meanwhile, problems related to the Galaxy Fold have convinced Huawei to delay the marketing of its foldable smartphone.
