Xiaomi has been rumoured to be working on a 64MP camera that could be launched soon. But today, Realme India head, Madhav Sheth has tweeted about a Realme device that will be equipped with a 64MP shooter. As per the tweet which has a snap from the sensor, the mystery phone will boast Samsung’s GW1 ISOCELL Bright sensor. Interestingly, Sheth also seems convinced that this will be the world’s first 64MP camera phone which likely means that the launch is very close.

From the watermark in the image, it’s also clear that this device is a quad-camera smartphone. Sheth calls it a “premium killer” which in all honesty, feels and sounds like the Realme X. It has been previously indicated that the Realme X won’t necessarily feature the same specifications as the Chinese model, hence this presumption. Moreover, this device will first launch in India before anywhere else. The 64MP sensor comes with a large 1/1.72 sensor size and the image looks stunning.
Rumour has it that the Realme X will be announced next month, possibly on July 15th. Samsung has also been rumoured to launch a 64MP camera phone soon but it looks like the new OPPO spin-off might take the cake away from all competitors.
