OPPO Find X2 Delayed to Next Year, Vice President Says

A couple days back we reported that OPPO was potentially working to release the successor of the much loved OPPO Find X this June. Well, today the company’s Vice President Shen Yiren said that this year, we won’t get an OPPO Find X2 but we can look forward to it next year.

Shen Yiren stated that the reason behind the delay is the pursuit for improvements. They won’t release a new device until it’s a big step forward over the original Find X. So, by around next year the successor might come to life.

Previously, Shen Yiren revealed that the OPPO Find series has been changed to the “Find X” series. In future we’ll thus only see phones named “Find X + number”.

OPPO’s Find X has brought many firsts to the market. It was the most expensive Oppo phone when it first released, it had the highest screen to body ratio (93.8%). It’s the world’s first Android mobile phone with 3D structured light technology for face recognition and the world’s first Android mobile phone using COP (chip on plate) packaging technology.

Either way, we’ll have to wait till next year to see the successor of OPPO’s very impressive device. Who’s bummed about the news?
