Just yesterday we reported about the official launch date of the first phone with an under display camera ever produced. The smartphone is coming from Chinese phone maker OPPO and it will be unveiled tomorrow at the MWC taking place in China.
Today, OPPO teased the device once again in a new teaser which also brings some additional details about it. We can check it out down below.
OPPO Phone with Under Display Camera Coming Tomorrow (New Teaser)
As we can see, the image portrays a camera hole that should only be visibile to the naked eye when the camera is activated. Meanwhile when normally using the phone it’ll act as part of the display.
Below the “hole” we then find some additional info regarding the phone. OPPO affirms that “the new comprehensive screen solution optimizes the internal structure of the device”, “the weight of the whole machine is lighter”, “the grip experience is better”, “the whole machine is sleeker”, “the airtightness is better” and “the quality is higher”.
Gizchina News of the week
All claims we cannot verify as of now, but which would be quite interesting to check out in real life.
There are no doubts that the camera under the screen technology is one of the new trends of the industry. In future, we’re probably going to only have phones without a “forehead” or a “chin”. The full screen design also brings a higher screen to body ratio, which is always a plus.
It should be noted that OPPO’s Vice President, Shen Yiren, previously said that the technology isn’t very mature yet. So the results from the front camera won’t be as good as an ordinary one.
Either way, we’re less than 24 hours away from seeing what we could consider an epoch-making moment, the first phone with an under display camera. Who’s excited about the news?
