While the 5G variant of Huawei Mate 20 X decided to pay a visit to the Chinese TENAA, the standard variant is receiving EMUI 9.1 today. The new update is still based on Android 9 Pie, but brings an upgrade on Huawei’s skin to has version number 9.1.0.300(C185E3R2P1).

Gizchina News of the week

The update is quite heavy, weighing in at 4GB in size, so it may take a while to download if you’re on slow internet. The update introduces some neat features such as Moon Photography and GPU Turbo Mode to the Huawei Mate 20 X. There’s another feature, that allows you to set up video ringtones for specific contacts. Interesting enough, the update provides a change in Huawei Mate 20X System File. Now the system was converted to EROFS, and according to the company, it will enhance performance and stability.

That said, the update is currently rolling out in Dubai. Since the OTA is spreading in a gradual form, it may take several days to reach all users. You can try to log in to the HiCare app and head over to the update menu to pull the new firmware manually. More countries should receive the update in the near future.

If you own a Huawei Mate 20 X and lives anywhere out of Dubai, let us know in the comments section if you’re receiving EMUI 9.1 as well.
