ZTE Launched 8K Smart Set-Top Box As 5G + 8K Solution

At the MWC 2019 Shanghai World Mobile Conference, ZTE released the next generation smart set-top box. As part of the 5G + 8K Extreme Clear video end-to-end solution, this 8K smart set-top box provides ultra-high definition video experience, smart voice interaction, and a stylish and novel look.

Inside, ZTE’s 8K smart set-top box uses a 12nm technology chip. The latter uses a quad-core 64-bit processor, clocked at up to 2.0GHz. Due to this powerful hardware, it supports 8K video decoding. Simply put, this set box provides performance with a resolution of up to 4 times 4K.

At the same time, the ZTE 8K smart set-top box supports strong AI computing performance. You can wake up the low-power voice assistant and remotely control the box. This not only makes it a real smart box but also provides an easier interaction with the product. It’s worth noting that this set-top box supports multi-channel video decoding.

Apart from this, at this event, ZTE clearly emphasized the concept of ‘Creating a 5G network with 4 basic mathematical operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division’. To showcase its ambitions, the company presented 5G devices for end-to-end 5G solutions, 5G & 4G usage covering all situations, commercial 5G deployment, intelligent systems, AI networks, traditional networks on-demand, an open 5G ecosystem, and industry-leading applications.

To integrate the network architecture into a single simple network, ZTE has launched the IT BBU platform that is compatible with all standards. It also has the extra-large capacity and supports multi-mode network integration and long-term changes with the simplest baseband.
