Despite having to deal with major issues around its US ban, Chinese phone maker Huawei seems to be doing pretty well in terms of sales volume. According to a recent press release, Huawei says the Huawei P30 series has enjoyed a record sales volume since it was first announced in March. To put it in perspective, Huawei says it has sold 10 million units of the P30 in 85 days.
The figure includes those units sold in the international markets and not just its home market alone. The Huawei P30 Series comprises of three devices – P30 Lite, P30, and P30 Pro. While last year’s flagship P20 sold well at that time, the P30 figure is a massive leap over last year’s performance.
Gizchina News of the week
President of Huawei’s handset product line Kevin Ho in a statement revealed that the time it took the hUAWEI P30 series to reach the 10 million unit sales (for the P30 series) is 62 days less than that for P20 series.
The P20 Pro as per Androidauthority report took four weeks to become the best-selling device in Western Europe in Huawei’s history, while it in turn out-sold the P10 Plus in Western Europe by a reported 316 percent after a month.
Huawei reportedly sold over 206 million smartphones last year, but might not be able to achieve such feat this year in the face of a trade restriction by the White House. The Chinese firm said it had already shipped 100 million phones this year, but predicted it could see total shipments by year-end drop by 40 million to 60 million, which would result in a total of 146 million to 166 million phones delivered by Huawei in 2019.
