Apparently, Sony is having a hard time to keep the stock of Xperia 1 in the European market. We can’t say if that’s due to high-demand or just low supply. However, seems that the Purple variant of the flagship is the hardest to find in the market.
In the UK, Xperia 1 units in Sony Mobile are all sold out. Despite this, UK citizens can still find the phone on Amazon – But there just a few units remaining. The device can also be found over at Clove, but it only has the Black version. Very, in counterpart, has Purple in stock, but other colors are unavailable.
Germany, Italy, France, and Spain seems to share the same Xperia 1 stock and the purple color is completely sold out. Sony’s Mobile Store for these countries still has the Black, Grey, and White color variants. Germany still has the local MediaMarkt retailer that counts with the Purple and Black units. Worth noting that the German retails have a very long shipping time for the handset: 9 to 10 working days.
Gizchina News of the week
Sony’s flagship is also available in several stores in Norway, but none of them offer the Purple version. In Poland, users only have the Black color to choose. The case here is very curious, while we can’t confirm what is happening here, seems that Sony is failing to supply the device, especially in the purple color. We say this because there is no news about the Xperia 1 breaking records in sales.
The Xperia 1 boasts Snapdragon 855 and features a rather unusual 21:9 display and that’s all. It still lacks most of the features that we find in nowadays flagships. The device is also available in China, with a whopping price of $910.
