The Redmi 7A is finally coming to India.  Xiaomi India and Manu Kumar Jain earlier last week teased the imminent arrival of the ultra-affordable device in the country. And now, we have the confirmation that the device will launch in the country in the early days of July.

Precisely, Xiaomi India head Manu Kumar Jain earlier today revealed that the Redmi 6A successor will launch in India on July 4th. The device has since been listed on Flipkart with the notify me option, a clear indication that the device will sell on the platform, as well as on Mi.com and Mi Home stores at the time of launch.

Gizchina News of the week

The device was first announced in China back in May, and it is about now reaching the Indian market. Speaking on the Indian launch, Manu Kumar had earlier revealed that the Indian version of the Redmi 7A will come with some massive upgrade.  Although not quite explicit on what the upgrade could be, the Indian head hinted that part of the upgrade revolves around what users love so well about the Redmi Note 7 and Mi A2,  and one that no other company delivers under 20,000 INR (~$290).

Redmi 7A specs

The Chinese version of the affordable Redmi 7A boasts of a Snapdragon 439 with up to 3Gb of RAM. It has 16GB or 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded via a MicroSD card. There is a single 13MP camera on the rear and a 5MP selfie snapper. I ships with Android 9 Pie straight out of the box fueled by a further improved 4,000mAh battery.

We are not quite sure what changes will be made to the device for India, so our best bet is to hold our breath for official confirmation.
