Honor has finally revealed the launch date of its Honor 8X successor today in China. The Honor 9X will be officially announced this month on July 23. The new models do seem to be arriving earlier than usual as the Honor 8X was released in September 2018. We’re yet to see TENAA listings and renders of the handset but leaked specifications and designs of the series have been making the rounds since some weeks.
According to currently available information, there will be two models in the series – Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro. The difference between the two models will be chiefly due to the camera. So, while the honorHonor 9X will sport a triple camera setup – 24MP + 8MP + 2MP – the Pro model could feature a quad-camera setup – 48MP (IMX582) + 8MP + 2MP (depth) +2MP (macro).

In terms of screen size, both the models could feature the same 6.5-6.7-inch displays but there is no information as to the exact designs. Although, the source of the specs leaks believed there could be a hole-punch design for the Pro model. It’s also being said that Honor will use the Kirin 810 SoC which is Huawei’s latest 7nm chipset for the Honor 9X and the Pro model. We suggest these specifications not be taken very seriously as the tipster himself suggests that these are unconfirmed specifications. And after President Trump’s relaxation of the US ban on Huawei, things are again starting to look rosy for both the companies. Hence, we expect the Honor 9X to dominate attention in the coming weeks.
