Samsung’s Galaxy A50 is placed in the middle of Samsung midrange series. It isn’t a device that flirts with the premium segment like the Galaxy A80, but still, bring features that aren’t present in affordable devices. The handset is one of the few mid-rangers to feature a triple-camera setup on the back. Furthermore, this setup is more than a mere gimmick and DxO mark tests are here to prove this statement.
The handset total score in DxO mark tests was 83. Obviously, it’s far from a 2019 flagship standard but it is on par with older flagships such as iPhone 7 and last year’s LG G7 ThinQ. The score can be split into the pictures department which generated 85 points. When it comes to the video recording, the device achieved a relatively worst result with 79 points. The key aspects of this device are great color reproduction, wide dynamic range, good exposure, and white balance.
Gizchina News of the week
The device didn’t impress on fine detail levels, the low light focus speed and accuracy as well as the green and pink color casts. Video recording received a rather low score due to and lack of detail and some autofocus inconsistencies. DxO evaluation also was surprised with the stabilization feature. Worth noting that in the last month, the device received an update that added Night Mode and Slow-Motion features.
Apparently, Samsung is indeed delivering even on the mid-range side of the coin. The Galaxy A50 along with other A-smartphones is proving to be a success.
