Nokia prepares to launch a smartphone with a 48MP rear camera and a waterdrop notch

Nokia (HMD Global) is working on an Android smartphone with the code name “daredevil” and model number TA-1198. According to the first information leaked, the device would feature a module with triple rear camera and 48MP main sensor capable of capturing shots in 4: 3 format.

The first indications of this new product come from Weibo. On which the @fenibook user shared a series of real photos (removed shortly after). It shows the “curious” aesthetic design of the device equipped with a rear photographic compartment similar to the one on the Motorola branded smartphones.

In the posterior part, there is also a sensor for the recognition of fingerprints, which is also circular. Wh the hardware features can be partly taken from the images:

The phone will employ a waterdrop notch for the front camera. Skipping out on the crazy pop-up camera setups and the nascent in-display camera technology. There is a decent sized bezel on the top. And a considerable chin on the bottom sporting the Nokia branding.

No indication is currently available regarding sales prices and the possible launch date of the product. The device should be the second smartphone with the Nokia brand to feature a 48MP sensor camera after the Nokia X71, a device officially presented in early April.
