Yesterday, MediaTek announced the iAIT platform i700 with high-speed edge AI computing capability for fast image recognition. Its single-chip design integrates processing units, including CPU, GPU, ISP, and AI core.
The i700 platform adopts an octa-core architecture, integrating two ARM Cortex-A75 processors operating at 2.2GHz and six Cortex-A55 processors operating at 2.0GHz. Also, there is an IMG 9XM -HP8 graphics processor operating at 970MHz. In addition, the i700 platform is equipped with MediaTek’s CorePilot technology, ensuring that the eight cores can optimally configure computing resources in the most efficient manner. This will the chip deliver the highest performance while achieving the lowest power consumption.
Gizchina News of the week
MediaTek said that the i700 platform continues using the powerful AI engine. However, it comes with not only a built-in dual-core AI engine but also an AI Accelerator. There is also an AI face detection engine to make its AI power up to 5 times better than the iMoT platform i500. Of course, this chip supports MediaTek’s NeuroPilot SDK, which is fully compatible with Google’s Android Neural Networks API (Android NNAPI). It provides complete development tools that enable device manufacturers to take advantage of industry-standard frameworks such as TensorFlow, TF Lite, Caffe, and Caffe2.
As for camera support, the MediaTek i700 can support a superb 32-megapixel camera or a dual-camera combination of 24MP and 16MP. Users can achieve a 32-megapixel resolution and up to 30 frames per second (FPS). To achieve accurate and zero-latency identification tasks, you can also use the 120FPS Ultra HD slow motion to capture fast moving objects.
At the same time, the MediaTek i700 platform also supports 2×2 802.11ac Wi-Fi and low-power Bluetooth 5.0 technology. Plus, there is a built-in mobile network baseband supporting up to Cat.12 through 4×4 MIMO and triple-carrier aggregation technology.
MediaTek i700 Also Made For Smart Buildings
The MediaTek i700 can also provide technical support for the identification and face payment of unmanned stores, as well as face access for smart buildings and company attendance systems.
The MediaTek i700 platform solution will be available in 2020.
Good to see that mediatek is back in the news.
