Sony Xperia 20 clears FCC, impending launch?

Fresh from a major leak that revealed virtually all the specs a few days ago, the Sony Xperia 20 is once more a subject of a fresh leak. Not really leak per se, but information from a pre-release certification document.

Tipster Mukul Sharma has spotted a new Sony Xperia phone of the FCC database suggesting its launch isn’t far off. The newly certified Xperia phone has the PY7-26817E model number and is alleged to be the upcoming Xperia 20.

The FCC is tight-lipped on the details. However, a leak from a few days ago already spilled the bean on a few of its specs. Do note that the leak doesn’t come from an official source, so it should be digested with a pinch of salt.

The  Xperia20 is tipped to get a similar design with the Xperia10. But the leaks note that the 20 will get major specs boasts over the Xperia 10.

First, it will drop the Snapdragon 630 of the Xperia 10 for a Snapdragon 710 processor paired with 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of storage. The camera as per the leak is a dual 12MP camera, while it retains the Xperia 10 front camera – 8MP sensor. The weight remains unknown, though the158 x 69 x 8.1 mm footprint is an indication it could get a smaller or, perhaps the same battery capacity.

Expected to debut alongside the Xperia20 is the Xperia20 plus.  Details about the later are available, but rumors point will launch at the IFA trade
