Android is the most widely used operating system. However, Google is still developing another system. The Fuchsia OS is Google’s new system which integrates Android and Chrome features. Before now, this system only supports Honor Play and Google Pixel 3XL. These smartphones run on Kirin 970 and the Snapdragon 845 SoC respectively. Google Fuchsia OS has added support for Snapdragon 835 SoC (MSM8998) which is found on devices like the Pixel 2.
Gizchina News of the week
Google is creating the impression that the Fuchsia OS is not a replacement for Android. Instead, it says that this system will temporarily focus on IoT devices such as smart hardware. For the moment, Fuchsia does mainly adapt to Nest Hub, Pixel book, etc. This is similar to Huawei HongMeng. Is it that the use of this system on mobile phones is not yet finalized?
It is worth mentioning that in June this year, Fuchsia OS developer website Fuchsia.dev went online to provide technical documentation search. In order to build this system, Google hired Apple MacOS at the helm. It is reported that Fuchsia OS abandoned the Linux kernel, but it is based on the Zircon micro core which is written in Flutter engine + Dart language. This system will eventually arrive fully but the exact release date is not known for now.
