Honor is currently preparing for a launch of the Honor 9X in China on July 23. But the brand has already charted the course for the next ten years of its mid-range series of phones in the future. As per HuaweiCentral, Honor has applied for Honor 10X, 20X, 30X, 40X and 50X trademarks in a number of Intellectual Property Organizations across the globe. The Honor 10X moniker is, in fact, the latest one and recently appeared on EUIPO.
Gizchina News of the week
It’s clear with the move that the company simply wants to secure the branding of the series for the future. Also, this likely means the Honor 9X successor will be called Honor 10X. However, the trademarks still appear in a pending format but should be granted soon. For now, focus is on the Honor 9X as Honor has confirmed its latest mid-range silicone Kirin 810 SoC based on the 7nm process.
There’s more and more evidence that suggests the Honor 9X will feature a pop-up camera which has increasingly been appearing on mid-range phones this year. Honor will be doing it for the first time though. And that gets us very excited about the prospects of the device. The camera is also expected to be a triple sensor setup for the 9X and a quad-camera setup for the 9X Pro. Thankfully, there are bucketloads of leaks regarding the specifications of the handset and we’re expecting official teasers posts will ramp up in the coming week ahead of launch.
